Christy Berryessa - Francie

Christy is so excited to be a part of bringing this important new work to the Nashville stage! In recent years you might have seen her as Rheta Lotz in The Battle of Franklin (Studio Tenn), Alice in Henry V (The Nashville Shakespeare Festival), Margaret in Silent Sky, and Norma Jean in Decision Height (Woven Theater), and Claire Ganz in Rumors (Belmont University). Thank you to my family for your support and to Lucy for inspiring me in all things.

Rosemary Fossee - Trisha

Rosemary's credits include Ella in Scot Copeland's Cinderella, Meg in A Wrinkle in Time,  Mary Warren in Afflicted Daughters of Salem, Ellen in Number The Stars, Garland/Baby Julius in Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, Mouse/ Bird/ Toad in Frog and Toad (Nashville Children's Theatre), Mona in Chicago, Lulu in Cabaret (Nashville Repertory Theatre),  Annabeth in The Lightning Thief The Musical (First National Tour),  Ms. Wong in Promises Promises, Catherine in Pippin (Boilerroom Theatre). Lauded by The New York Musical Theatre Festival as "Best Supporting Actress in a Musical," for her work in Geoff's Davin's new musical The First Church of Mary The Repentant Prostitute. 

Meredith Daniel - Electra/Mignon

Meredith is an actor, director, and teacher hailing from the small town of College Grove, Tennessee. As a graduate of Belmont University with a BFA in Theatre Education, she spends most of her time in the classroom as a middle school theatre teacher, so performing on stage is an extra treat! Some of her favorite credits include STEEL MAGNOLIAS (Annelle/The Larry Keeton Theatre), SILENT SKY (Henrietta/ Woven Theatre), and REASONS TO BE PRETTY (Steph/Found Spaces Productions). Meredith is so honored to be a part of Garden Theatre Company's inaugural performance. Love to Lee (who holds down the fort so she can do what she loves) and to baby Graham. 

Jordan Scott - Megan

Jordan is thrilled to be part of the You Are What You debut! Jordan has worked as both an actor and teaching artist for various theaters in the Nashville area including the Nashville Shakespeare Festival (Luciana- Comedy of Errors), Nashville Children's Theatre, Street Theatre Company (Jen- John & Jen), Pull-Tight Players (Catherine- The Foreigner), Center for the Arts (Puck- Midsummer) and Bethlehem Players (A Christmas Carol, Dearly Beloved.) Jordan also works with Backlight Productions as a  Writer and Director for the On-Tour Program, in which adults with special needs perform before local school districts to educate students on the power of Kindness. Coming up, Jordan will be  playing Joy in CS Lewis' Weep for Joy, coming to Nashville next month at the Looby Theatre. Jeremiah 17: 7-8. 

Merrie Shearer - 

Pot Roast/Interviewer/Driver


Merrie recently graduated from Lipscomb University with a BFA in Acting. She is so excited to be involved in Garden Theatre Company's first production and is so grateful to be involved in new works! Recent credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream (The Nashville Shakespeare Festival), Silent Sky, and Godspell (Lipscomb University).  She'd like to thank her parents for their support, Garden Theatre Company for the fantastic opportunity to learn and play, and to Mora Harris for providing such a wonderful story to explore.


ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT

Mora V. Harris writes character-driven comedies under a blanket in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Notable productions of her work include The Weird Sisters Theatre Project, The Women's Theatre Festival, 5th Wall Productions, and Pittsburgh Opera, in addition to multiple productions at high schools and colleges. Her work has received development through City Theatre Company, The Hangar Theatre, Alliance/Kendeda, the Sewanee Writer's Conference, and the Kennedy Center's Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center Fellowship. She was a two-time National Finalist for the Kennedy Center's John Cauble Award for Outstanding Short Play, and a Second Place winner of the Alfred P. Sloan Script Competition. Her work has been published by Smith & Kraus and Playscripts, Inc. She holds a B.A. in Creative Writing and Theater from Oberlin College and an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University where she studied with Rob Handel. She works as a teaching artist for City Theatre and teaches writing at the University of Pittsburgh. She is Pittsburgh's Regional Co-Representative for the Dramatist Guild. www.moravharris.com

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Jillian Frame is the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Garden Theatre Company. She earned her B.A. in Dramatic Arts at Trevecca Nazarene University and has since worked as a director, educator, stage manager, and designer with a variety of local theatres and schools in Middle Tennessee, including Spark Theatre Company, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Trevecca Nazarene University, Lipscomb University, and Franklin Road Academy. Her most recent work includes directing THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH and SENSE AND SENSIBILITY (Trevecca Nazarene University), stage management for GODSPELL (Lipscomb University) and THE FLICK (Verge Theater Company), and puppet designer for [TITLE OF SHOW] (Spark Theatre Company).
