The Sunflower Membership offers affordable pricing options for all GTC productions and
education programs to families and individuals participating in financial
assistance programs, such as SNAP, WIC, and TANF.


Sunflower Membership Policies & FAQs

  • Who can become Sunflower Members?
    Families and individuals who are current participants of any of the following state assistance programs are eligible to become Sunflower Members:
    -- Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP),
    -- Women, Infants, and Children (WIC),
    -- or Families First/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

  • What does the Sunflower Membership cost?
    Sunflower Memberships are free to join! Discounted tickets and fees are available to Sunflower Members for all GTC productions and education programs.

  • What benefits do I receive as a Sunflower Member?
    -- Up to two (2) Pay-What-You-Can tickets per GTC production
    -- Partial or full scholarship eligibility for youth of Sunflower Member(s) for youth education programs
    -- Partial or full scholarship eligibility for Sunflower Members(s) for adult education programs

  • How do I use my Sunflower Membership?
    To receive your Sunflower Membership benefits, present your valid photo ID to our box office staff each time you purchase your tickets prior to your performance. We will verify your membership in our database and then apply your discount to all applicable tickets.

    For Sunflower Members participating in education programs, present your valid photo ID at check-in on the first day of each program to finalize your enrollment and receive your approved benefits.

  • How long do Sunflower Memberships last?
    Sunflower Memberships are active for one (1) year from date of application confirmation. Eligible Sunflower Members must reapply each year with current required documents to remain active Members.

  • How do I become a Sunflower Member?
    Simply apply in person when you attend one of GTC's performances. You can use your membership starting that day!

    Please bring the required documents below, including a form of payment (cash or credit/debit card) for any tickets or program fees you wish to purchase at that time:

    -- Valid photo ID (i.e. Current state issued photo ID: either a Driver's License or State Identification Card) - The name on the photo ID must match the adult name on the required document(s) below.

    AND one of the following:
    -- SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Card
    -- WIC Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Card
    -- Tennessee Enrollment Certification Letter - Issued by the Department of Human Services showing enrollment in a qualifying program. Letter Must be issued in the Sunflower Membership applicant's name and verify enrollment for the current year. You can obtain a letter from the Department of Human Services showing you are currently enrolled in Families First by calling the family assistance service center at (615) 743 - 2000.

  • I want to register myself or my child for an education program, but I still need to apply for a membership. What do I do?
    Contact our education department at [email protected] to receive more information about completing your membership application and receiving your benefits for your program registration.

  • Additional Sunflower Membership Policies:
    -- Sunflower Memberships and their benefits are non-refundable and cannot be transferred, canceled before expiration, or exchanged for cash value. Memberships are for the exclusive use of those individuals named on the membership application for a single household.
    -- Only eligible adults 18 years of age or older may qualify for Sunflower Memberships. Only eligible youth 17 years old or younger named Member's own household may be added as youth to that Member's Sunflower Membership. Youth may not use membership without named Member present.
    -- Sunflower Membership offerings and policies are subject to change and Members are subject to all GTC general, ticketing, and education program requirements, restrictions, and guidelines.
